We are so sorry for your loss Faith, Gordon, John, Elaine, family and friends.
Douglas was quite a man. The Memorial Service was a great tribute to Douglas but also to his family.
Two things I remember about Douglas was his RESPECT FOR PEOPLE and GIVING OF HIS TIME. I remember Douglas (still in his Journeyman training) and Uncle Warren (ready to retire as a union electrician supervisor) at a family dinner talking for an hour about electrical jobs and work. Swapping stories. One time Douglas had just finished wiring an electrical panel and it was a piece of art. Another electrician added a circuit and Douglas had to re-run this circuit because it didn’t meet his high work standards. Douglas definitely had high standards and respected Uncle Warren.
The other thing was taking Aunt Ruth to the Local 86 Clam Bake multiple times. Aunt Ruth loved her clams and these union clam bakes. One time, Douglas drove back from camp, picked her up and took her to the union clam bake. Aunt Ruth definitely enjoyed his company and worked Douglas hard getting her more clams throughout the day. Douglas was quite the gentleman and will be missed by many.

John and Elaine, words cannot express my sympathy to you for the loss of Doug. John, when we worked together, it was obvious how proud you were of your children, it was a common source of conversation. Losing Doug, in the prime of his life, must leave a huge hole in your hearts.
My sincerest sympathies to you and all of your family

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember coaching Doug in track through Walworth Recreation and playing volleyball with his dad. Doug had a very happy and generous spirit as a youngster. His smile was infectious and his humor endearing. My prayers are with you and your family.

My condolences. Doug lives on in the hearts and memories of everyone who knew him. It is an amazing testament to who he is: a loving husband and father, dutiful son and brother, and a friend who can be counted on.

My deepest sympathies to Doug’s family and friends. Doug was louder than life back in the middle and high schools. Everyone was friends with him. The class of ‘97 surely has lost a great person.
