Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. In the short time we got to spend with Cheryl we found her to be an incredibly strong, intelligent, devoted, and compassionate person. Tremendous qualities that have certainly carried over to Juliana. The struggle that she, and her family faced, has been overwhelming. Our love and support is with all of you.

Cheryl was a remarkable woman, wife and mother deeply devoted to her family and profession. She was also a hero for taking her cancer fight on with defiance and an indomitable spirit. She leaves a legacy of love and the spirit of a warrior. I will always remember your sweet heart and gentle soul.
I am blessed to have known Cheryl Ann.

Cheryl was a wonderful friend. Our family met the Oppelts when Cheryl was six years old, and we joined drum corps at the same time. We all traveled to many shows as well as going on vacations together. When she went to college she decided to become a nurse, and I was particularly proud of her commitment to her patients and colleagues. She always had something kind or funny to say. In recent years she faced her cancer diagnosis with strength. Cheryl always researched all options and decided what to do next based on consultation with the top professionals. Her family was the center of her universe, and each cancer treatment was done with them in mind. She went to a specialized clinic in Arizone twice, seeking the best advice from top cancer doctors. My daughter and I were among several who were blessed to stay with her during those times. She never wavered in her conviction that these treatments were going to work, and she changed course when necesssary in the hope for a cure. The world has lost a bright star with strong but gentle beliefs. Cheryl, I am proud to have known you and to have been your friend.
