I worked with Judy at RPC for approximately 8 years. Judy was an excellent nurse and even better psych nurse. Above all else she was a genuine good person and if you really knew her she was a ton of fun to be around. One thing I know about Judy outside of her job was that family meant a whole lot to her. She adored her parents and siblings, and often talked about the trips and get togethers they would have. I’m just finding out today of her passing from a mutual friend, and co- worker , and my heart is saddened. I will always remember Judith Ladato and may she rest forever in peace with our Lord, Ron Washington

Judi was one of the first people I met upon arrival at Syracuse U. in 1979, and although we had not spoken for many years as of her passing, she remains one of the most memorable people that I have ever known. Judi balanced academic brilliance and scholastic discipline with gregariousness and fun, and anyone who did not know where her room was could probably have located it by following the tunes drifting down the hallway: Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Todd Rundgren -- check, check, check. And let's not forget the gatherings in the sacred hour between three and four p.m., when it was necessary to check on the doings in Port Charles, where Mykos Casadine was busy wielding his weather machine with extreme prejudice. Although Judi's accent, a blend of Californian and Raaa-chesterian, sounded strange to my Long Island ears, I hero worshipped her to such an extent that her most mundane "cultural references," which reflected her love of all things Rochester, remain clear in my memory today. I have only been to Penfield once, and that briefly, but I know for a fact that in 1980 there was, somewhere in its locale, a car dealership called Dick Ide Pontiac, a chicken joint called Sal's Birdland and a bar called The Penny Arcade. (I remember, on a road trip, spotting a Dick Ide Pontiac sign with the excitement of a Florida-bound kid sighting "South of the Border.") I hope those who have had the privilege of knowing Judi in the many years since will forgive my dwelling on such silly and inconsequential memories. I am so glad to know that she lived those intervening years to the fullest, traveling the world with beloved friends and laughing all the way. I can only imagine how much her patients benefitted from her knowledge, her caring, her generosity and her humor. The world was a brighter place for her presence in it.

I will always have fond memories of Judy holding court in her dorm room at SU, going to concerts at the Carrier Dome (and elsewhere), and taking road trips all over NY State. She was truly one of a kind. Our deepest condolences to the Lodato Family.

Much love and prayers to all of Judi's family and other friends during this sad time. I am thankful for the many concerts, shows, trips to Jamaica, Aruba, Los Vegas, New Orleans, NYC she and I took. We made many happy, crazy memories over the past 40 years and I'm sure everyone who knew her can say the same. Rest in peace, my friend.
