Obituary of David Nelson Van Hanehem

David Nelson Van Hanehem, born July 30, 1942, died February 13, 2020.

Predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Irene Van Hanehem, sister Rosanne Deisenroth, wives Mary Louise and Roberta.

Survived by daughter Taylor (Phillip) Acton, granddaughter Violet Opazo Marcelic, step-granddaughter Callie Acton and step-grandson Brian Acton, sister Frances (Joseph) Schirmer; brother Richard (Alice) Van Hanehem, brother-in-law William Schoeffler, several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.

David retired from Bausch and Lomb after 27 years. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with various projects, caring for his large yard, and restoring his 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle, with which he won car show awards. His family and friends will miss him.

No prior calling. Please join the family Tuesday March 17th 10 AM at Holy Trinity Church (1460 Ridge Rd. Webster) for a celebration of his Funeral Mass. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Salvation Army. Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.
