Obituary of Catherine (Meleo) Chiaramonte

ROCHESTER NY - Kay (9/21/1923) lived most of her life in Rochester, NY. and passed away on 1/4/2020 in Rhinebeck,NY. She was the sixth of eight children of a supportive, loving family. She worked at The Genesee Hospital business office, eventually becoming the Tumor Registrar where she was known by fellow employees and patients for her kindness and care. She was married for 60 years to Joseph Chiaramonte who passed away in 2004. She is survived by her daughter Mary Chiaramonte Berke as well as her grandchildren: Kai Berke and his wife Josephine Santa-Cruz; Vesa Berke-Byrnes and her husband Tyler and two great grandchildren, Amara and Dylan Byrnes. She cherished her immediate family and beloved nieces and nephews. Her family, friends and children who knew her felt her respect, loving presence and playful spirit. A Funeral mass will be held at St. James Church(133 Brett Rd Rochester NY) on Saturday at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to continue the work of Brother Andre Saint, healer and dedicated servant of St. Joseph.
