Louis H. Lococo
Webster - Louis, 74, passed away at the Maplewood Nursing Home on April 25, 2019. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Alice Lococo. He is survived by his partner of 29 years, Donald Poulin; his brothers, Michael (Sue) Lococo and Richard Lococo; sisters, Linda (Robert) Uerkvitz and Alice (Greg) Cobb; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Louis taught at East Irondequoit Central School District and was loved by his students, parents and fellow teachers. Louis prided himself in teaching the first all boys class (first grade). He was a very progressive teacher and was a curriculum leader and he wrote his own curriculum. His students excelled and thrived under his leadership. He was also a Union Leader defending teacher's rights. He was an avid tennis player and coached tennis teams. He was exceedingly generous and served on the Board of Directors of the Alvin and Ruth Theim Charitable Foundation.
Calling hours, Monday 4-8 at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road (Webster, Rte. 250). On Tuesday please meet the family at Holy Trinity Church for his Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment, Webster Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Louis' favorite charities St. Jude's Hospital and Boys Town. A very special thank you the Maplewood Nursing Home staff for the excellent care they provided Louis during the 2 and 1/2 years and for the extra compassion showed during his last days.
