John P. Lembo

Brighton - 3/24/19 Age 96. Predeceased by wife of 70 years, Viola and son Robert at age 16. Survived by son John Lembo (Cathy) , daughter Cindy Dowd (Joe), grandchildren Christy Lazarus (Mark), Sandra Wojak (Kurt), Kevin Dowd, Michael, Marissa and Mark Lembo. Also 5 great grandchildren. 

Born and raised in Amsterdam, NY. He worked as a machinist 5 years, then served in the U.S. Navy as a Catapult Operator aboard an aircraft carrier during WWIIin the Pacific. He graduated SUNY Oswego in Industrial Arts, and later received his master's at the U of R in Guidance and Counseling. He worked at Brighton High School starting as an Industrial Arts teacher, then a Guidance Counselor for 32 years.

John was an avid gardener, enjoyed golf many years, winters in Florida and time with his loving family and Aide Sandy.
