Andrew E. Strawhand Webster – He was surrounded by his family when he passed peacefully on March 24, 2019 at the age of 87. He leaves his loving wife, Joyce, of 67 years; daughter, Darlene (Mark) Smythe; granddaughter, Laura (Travis) Miller; great-grandson Andrew Miller; daughter, Linda Credit and grandson Adam Credit.
Andy felt passionately about serving the community. He served both overseas and stateside in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Andy was a 40-year member of the West Webster Fire Department, an EMT instructor, Commander of VFW Post 820 and a member of the Webster Area Exempts. He was instrumental in building the Veteran’s Memorial at the Penfield Town Hall as well as the placement of numerous flag poles in Penfield parks.
His 30-year career as a quality control engineer at Kodak was one of his proudest accomplishments. He enjoyed his work and went-on to start his own auditing and consulting business after his retirement.
Andy loved the outdoors: gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and boating were some of his favorite past times. He also enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Lamoka Lake in the Finger Lake Region. His family meant the world to him, which was evident in everything he did.
A celebration of his life was held privately for family and friends.
