I didn't know who he was until I came across Civil War lectures on YOUTUBE. I was impressed by the passion he had for his material. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentations. I too came to study and be passionate about the Civil War later in life. As a retired nurse I first studied wounds, illnesses, doctors, treatment during the war. I quickly found myself involved in all areas of of the war. When I tried to find other lectures, I found out about his death. My heartfelt sympathies go out to you. He was a wonderful teacher! I am most thankful I got to hear his lectures. Norma Jean Morrissey R.N.

We miss our wonderful neighbor. Don will be remembered for his kindness, warm smile and generous heart. He was always quick to help no matter the job. Especially when tools and equipment were necessary!
More important and impactful was he support and love shown to our son and daughter. He taught many lessons; always displaying a deep concern and respect for others. A role model to top all others. We are grateful for the lovely memories. He will be missed and forever loved.

Don was my eighth grade science teacher.....an excellent one. I remember that he pioneered a new program teaching science over the television. He also taught me and a number of others to swim and dive. He spent many hours with us in the college pool. I came across him again later when I took a graduate course in statistics from him at SUNY Brockport. He also became an advisor to our honors and gifted program in Spencerport. The last time I saw him was at a Campus School Reunion in Brockport four or five years ago. He was older but the same. He was a caring man of many talents who touched many lives. He made a difference. It was a life well lived. He will be missed.

What a wonderful neighbor--Don will be missed, especially in the summer with top down on the BMer. Our thoughts are with Diane, the family and the many friends who enjoyed Don's company.

Don taught me to swim when I was seven and much later started me on the road to a degree in administration. I also have a vivid memory of him bouncing a basketball into my 2nd grade classroom to visit Miss Tilletson, my teacher. A wonderful guy and an inspired teacher.
