Fritz Rieser
Fritz (Fred) Rieser passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018 at the age of 96. He was born in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and lived most of his life in Buffalo, NY.
Predeceased by his wife Emily, his son Frederick, his brothers Werner and Walter, sister Yvonne; he is survived by his sister Marge, sons Randolph (Carrie) and Douglas (Donna), daughter Patti (Tom), grandchildren Tiffany (Andrew), Ashley (Derek), Corey, Elise (Rob), Jeffrey, Kara, Brianne (Brendan), Shane (Mandy), Samantha, and Chelsea as well as 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Holly.
Fritz served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper and fought in the battles of Ardennes, Arno and Bastogne, receiving the WWII Victory medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.
He graduated from the University of Buffalo with a degree in psychology and ran a successful home building construction business for many years. He and his wife Emily were married for 62 years.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 11:30 Webster Rd. Webster, NY, 14580, on August 24th at 11 am.
