My condolences to you all. I met Joe when he drove his school bus by me twice a day on his way to Colebrook and Iroquois schools, and I was the crossing guard. He'd stop when he could and say hi and share his candy or cookies with me. I reciprocated by baking brownies for him. When I got moved down the street he came to see me there too. We exchanged phone numbers in April when one of our guards lost his wife, so we'd talk once in awhile, always starting the conversation with Hi, this is Joe the bus driver or Hi, this is Judy the crossing guard. I didn't know him well, but know in my heart that he was a special man to those that knew him. I'm sure he's in heaven and free from that terrible cancer. He will be in my prayers. It was a joy to meet him this past school year and I will miss him.
