Estero, FL - Thomas W. Banaszewski, age 77, of Estero, FL formally of Webster, NY, peacefully passed away with family close by on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was the beloved husband for over 54 years to his wife Nancy.
Tom was born and raised in Schenectady, NY on November 25, 1940, son of the late William and Anne Banaszewski. He was a graduate of Ricker College and was extremely active in local politics and the community. While he had many business accomplishments he was most proud of paving the way for women in business by driving the Rochester Jaycees to allow female members in the early 1970's. Beneath Tom's formidable stature and no nonsense approach was a warm hearted, good natured and committed person. He was lovable, funny, quick witted, and a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Tom was a lifelong New York Giants fan and shared his passion of sports with family and friends which was culminated in his "Bucket List" moment of cheering on the Giants to victory at Super Bowl 46.
Tom lived with his wife Nancy in the Rochester, NY area for over 50 years where together they raised their four children. He was the dedicated father of Lynne Davis and her husband Paul of Greensboro, NC, Lisa Diehl and her husband Chris of Webster, NY, Craig Banaszewski and his wife Kelley of Keller, TX, and Jill Shin and her husband Matt of Smithtown, NY. He leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren, Meghan (Josh Fuller), Justin, Allie, Connor, Adam, Kayla, Laura, Jake, Ashley, Nathan, and Ryan. He is survived by his brother William Banaszewski and his wife Michelle, and his sister Patricia Bloom and her late husband John.

Calling hours will be held on March 2nd from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Road (Rte.250) Webster, NY 14580. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on March 3rd at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd., Webster, NY 14580.
