Obituary of Michael George Millner
Pittsford NY - It is with great sadness the family of Michael George Millner announces his passing on January 7, 2018, born 3-23-49.
Michael will forever be remembered by his loving parents George and Lucille Millner. Brother Martin (Alex, Wesley) Millner, Sisters; Judy (Steve, Shane) Vandewinckel, Lynn Millner, Marcy (James, Gordon, Melina) Leone, Janet (John, Jesse) Mele, Leanne Millner (Jim, Parker, Porter), predeceased Suzanne Millner, Helene (Nathan) Serafine, Lucille (James, Jonathan, Lauren, Joseph) Kunz, and his loving partner Carol Shuherk.
Michael was a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School where he lettered in Football and Baseball earning honors as an all-city catholic football player. After attending his freshman year at Western Kentucky University on a Division I football scholarship, Michael finished his undergraduate at SUNY Brockport majoring in Economics.
After college, Michael took an entrepreneurial route in business starting multiple business ventures in residential home building. He was a visionary builder and craftsman with many significant contributions to the Rochester and surrounding areas. His life was dedicated to creating a positive impact to the communities of Rochester NY through his work.
His home designs were frequently featured in various business and home architectural publications for his workmanship and approaches in the preservation of historical homes and buildings across the Greater Rochester region.
Michael’s creativity and passion did not stop with the beautiful homes he built, he was a phenomenal landscaper and horticulturist able to mix and artistically match the landscape to the designs of its natural surroundings.
Michael was an avid road cyclist and athlete throughout his adult life and loved the personal challenge of cycle time trials every night he rode.
Michael touched so many people in his life and businesses and was the eldest of ten children. It is impossible to list all of the impacts he will forever be remembered for.
Michael will be truly missed by his family, his friends and colleagues as well as the home owners he embraced with his golden touch.
