Tassone, Vincent (Vinnie) A.
Brighton: Age 88, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren. He is now reunited with his wife, Shirley, who he loved with all of his heart, and daughter Suzanne.
Vincent is survived by his daughter Vanessa of Brighton, NY, son John (Gina) of Penfield, NY, son Richard (Kim) of Katonah, NY, daughter Kristina (Scott) of Sharon, MA, and grandchildren Vincent, Brendan, Bridget, Ryan, Liam, Caitlin, Cece Tassone; Carrie, John, Annie Bartlett; Jamie, Riley, Nicholas Webster. Vincent and Shirley devoted their lives to their children and grandchildren who they showered with love.
Vincent was born on August 10, 1928 in Rochester, New York to John and Enrica (Chiodo) Tassone who immigrated to the US from Caulonia, Italy. He graduated from East High School in 1946. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 as an aerial photographer during the Korean War. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology department of photography in 1956. He worked as a photo chemist at 3M Company for over 30 years receiving a patent in 1969 for color photo developing. He worked at the IRS for 15 years helping people prepare their taxes.
Vinnie loved young people, and he stayed involved in helping them grow and develop their athletic potential and character throughout his life. He coached kids in Brighton Pop Warner, was a Brighton booster, Monroe County Track official, officiated Special Olympics, and he was a devoted servant at Queen of Peace church where he and Shirley served as Eucharistic ministers. Frequent denizen of the Char Broil, he will be remembered for his love of his family and friends, his quick wit and charm, and service to others. He always had a way of putting a smile on your face and making you feel better after talking to him, and he is loved and deeply missed by many.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 7:00 to 9:00PM Friday, June 9 at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. (Rte 250) Webster, NY 14580.A celebration of his life will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, June 10 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 601 Edgewood Ave, Rochester, NY 14618 followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A reception will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace after the graveside service.
