Very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I had the pleasure and great experience of a close work relationship with Steve for 22 years at Gates Chili. I will always remember him as a strong, principal, but fair and friendly. I consider him not only as by boss but a friend. Steve supported me at a time I needed his support and I will always remember that particular incident. My thoughts and prayers for Steve, Sheri and Family.

Dear Sheri, Stephen, Travis and family,
We are saddened to hear of Stephen's passing. He was truly a great man and we share so many fond memories having spent many, many, many great summers with our "shore family" at Owasco Lake.
I will always remember his laughter and big heart. He sure loved a good party!
We're sending you our love and (((hugs)))) with prayers for comfort at this time of great loss.
Love,

During my freshman year of high school, Gates Chili was a tightly run ship in part because this great man made sure that every single student was safe. Mr. Tisa came off as a tough guy who had a "no nonsense" approach, but down deep he was a wonderful individual. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to interview him for my class newspaper. My Uncle Phil Nuciola wrestled with Mr. Tisa when they were in high school. My condolences go out to the family.

Sheri, I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He and you fought an amazing fight. After working with Steve for so many years at the high school, I wouldn't have expected anything less from him. You and Stephen and Travis are in my prayers. I know that when we lose a loved one, it feels as though a part of our heart goes too. I believe that our loved one takes that piece with him or her. Steve took a piece of your heart with him, but to fill the void, he left a piece of his.

Sheri,Steve, Travis:
We were very saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Although we have only known the Tisa family for a few years, sharing their camp on Owasco Lake has been one of our greatest enjoyments. Steve & Sheri made us feel like family from the day we met. Steve will be missed, but those who knew him will long remember.
With our deepest sympathy to the Tisa families.
