I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Montello. I am now 34 years old, and I still clearly remember her smile, her warmth, and her humor. I felt lucky to have her as my teacher, and I can only hope my son will be as fortunate in his teachers. Sending my deepest condolences for your loss.

Dear Mr. Montello and family,
Our whole family sends our deepest condolences on the passing of Mrs. Montello. She was a gem and one in a million. First our daughter Yvonne was blessed to have her for her 2nd grade teacher at AC, then Diana a few years later. Each day we knew they were loved and encouraged to be all they could be with her guiding hand. Mrs. Montello taught us so much about seeing the good in everyone and making each moment a joyous one. We loved her so . Yvonne gave her an apple tree as an end of the year teacher gift and once the tree matured and grew apples she took the time to make applesauce and bring it into school for our family! Her spirit lives on in our lives and the lives of all the children and parents she touched.
May God's peace be with you at this time.
Lisa and Devon Van Vechten

Rest in peace, Mrs. Montello. I hope you know howloved you are by myself and all the students at AC. You made us each feel so special everyday. Especially on our birthdays when you would apply bright lipstick and give us a big smooch in front of our peers during lunch. It was so fun to watch you kiss the other teachers too! You made 2nd grade such a loving, safe, and warm environment. Learning in your class was fun. You felt like a second Mom at school and that means the world to a Lower Schooler! Sending prayers to your family and hope they can find some comfort in your memories. Xoxo

Sam, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Liz. She was a beautiful and kind woman. I remember while you were staying at Avalon waiting for your home to be built - seeing her outside at the picnic table doing a crossword puzzle. Liz and I had many wonderful conversations together. She was always a bright spot in a dreary day. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. She will be missed.

Liz was our "welcome wagon" when Rick and I and A B &C moved onto Hampton Way. She and I developed a great friendship over 26 years, which included a wonderful couples friendship as well . The four of us spent a lot of fun evenings, sharing a lot of laughs together. Liz and I spent many hours on her front porch chatting, confiding and at times, consoling with each other. She was always there for me, as I always tried to be there for her and in the last months I told her I was going to be her "happy friend" to the end. I still am her happy friend. Happy that we were such great friends and have such happy memories of our times shared. I love you Liz and will miss you very much.
