Paul was a native of East Rochester, NY and made his home in Penfield for nearly 60 years. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corp in Africa and South East Asia. After the war he was employed by the Aeolian American Piano Corporation and spent nearly his entire career in virtually every aspect of the production of the Mason and Hamlin piano, originally in East Rochester and eventually in Haverill, Mass. Not only a master craftsman and technician, he was also the president of the local union and was a champion of the workers he represented and the industry in which he worked.
Paul was extremely proud of his military service and his work on the Mason and Hamlin pianos, but they paled in comparison to the incredible love and devotion he had to his family. His three children, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren were at the core of his life. It was a rare dance recital, sporting event or performance that he did not attend, and birthdays and holidays were often just an opportunity for creating a new hand crafted wooden toy or piece of furniture for a lucky child.
