I was a 20-year employee of Sibley's, 1970-1990. I worked in the stock division on the second floor. I was in Carmela's department for a couple of years. When I worked with her, I knew her as Connie; everyone called her Connie. She was an associate on the sales floor at the time, but I knew she had been a buyer at one point. I was surprised to learn she was born in Italy, and astounded to hear that during her time in New York, she used to hang out with Andy Warhol!! Never mentioned it. These were good times at Sibley's in the 70's. I have fond memories of working with Connie and all the ladies on the second floor. Connie and I used to have many discussions on a variety of topics; she always had an opinion (as I'm sure her family knows). My condolences to all her friends and relatives and my blessings that you had her for such a long time (I also couldn't believe she was 95!) Miss you forever, Connie.
