Obituary of George Damelio

Damelio, George Joseph Penfield, New York: Born Sept. 4, 1936, passed this life on July 31, 2011 at age 74. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen (DiGiugno) Damelio; his family which he was so proud of, Dr. Steven and Debra Damelio, Matthew, Jacob & Michael Damelio, Sheril Damelio-Johnson, Ashley and Alyssa Johnson, Stacie and Todd Plouffe, Jacquelyn and Nicholas Plouffe; mother-in-law, Laura DiGiugno; brother Joseph and Diane Damelio; sisters, Ann Romagnolo and Elizabeth Russo; sister-in-law, Mary Damelio; in-laws, Laurie and Richard Hochreiter, Dr. Jason Hochreiter, Dr. Jonathan Hochreiter, Joseph and Shannon DiGiugno, Victoria and Gabriella DiGiugno; caring friend, Richard O'Bryan; many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Bernardino and Eleanor Damelio; brothers, Anthony, Mario, and Salvatore Damelio; father-in-law, Joseph DiGiugno. Retired from Kodak as a supervisor after 35 years of service. A graduate from Madison High School in 1954, George then attended Ithaca College. As a young man he was an excellent athlete, an interest that continued as a devoted fan of all his grandchildren's sporting activities. Calling hours will be held at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Nine Mile Point Road (Rte 250) Webster, NY on Tuesday, (TODAY) Aug. 2, 2011 from 4-8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 at Holy Spirit Church, Penfield, NY. Entombment will be at White Haven Memorial Park. A gathering will follow at Glendoveers, Old Browncroft Blvd. Rochester. Memorial contributions may be sent in George's honor c/o K. Damelio to P.O. Box 707 Penfield, NY 14526 to be donated to the various volunteers and charitable organizations involved in his care.
