Obituary of Joseph Wander

Wander, Joseph Edward Rochester: Sept. 29, 1919- July 22, 2011, age 91. Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Caponetti) Wander; daughters, Carolyn (Paul) Daniel of Livermore, CA & Andrea (Matt) Ostrofsky of Canton, OH; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Daniel, Caitlin Daniel & Megan Ostrofsky; sister, Rosabell Preston; brother, Alan (Marion) Wander; many nieces, nephews and longtime and devoted friend, Kenny Rossi. He was predeceased by sister Edna Wander Mason and brother, Jacob Wander. Joe worked at Central Trust and Chase Bank for many years and has been happily retired for close to 30 years. He is an alumni of Aquinas High School and attended St. Bernards Seminary. Joe loved nature, working in the garden, the NY Yankees, and spending time at the cottage on Lake Ontario with family. He was a gentle, spiritual man, who treasured his faith and appreciated the little things in life. He will be missed forever by those of us who loved him. Calling Friday, July 29th, from 4-8 PM at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 N. Goodman St. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 from the funeral home and 11:00 at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
