Dear family of Aunt Gertie, I am so sorry to hear of Gertie's passing. Stephanie, thank you for contacting my mother and letting her know. We had not been in touch for such a long time. I guess we all get busy with our own lives. MY father, as you know, has dementia, but has often talked of his sister. He wanted to call her many times, but I knew she must have been ill, as she called, always, on his birthday, Nov. 16th, and at other times throughout the year. My dad gets upset so easily and has been suffering with shingles (such pain) since June. He just turned 90. I guess I tried to protect him from the inevitable. We have such fond memories of Aunt Gertie. She was a hot ticket. Uncle Bill was such a quiet man. I remember her always telling him to be quiet and then asking him why he never said anything. So funny. They would all come down for visits, Aunt Boonie, and Aunt Evelyn too. We would go to Gloucester for a fish dinner and walk to boardwalks. I am Janice (Veno) Leach age 55, 2 brothers, Raymond age 60 this year, and James Jr (Doug) age 57 Dec. 20th. We came up for your Uncle John's funeral, I was so young. And we also visited when my parents took us to the 1965 NY Worlds Fair. (Before your time, well before I suppose). I and my family will always hold a special place in our hearts for her. Love to you all, Janice Please feel free to contact me at any time. My E mail is Jrose524@verizon.net My address is 23 Longwood Ave., Woburn, MA 01801
