Barbara Chase Mace
Barbara Elaine Chase passed away on November 4 after a long illness. She is survive by her husband, Richard, Sr.; sons, Richard, Jr. (Bridgeport) and Matthew (Liverpool); sisters-in-law, Joanne Cookinham, Sharon Mace, Mary Ann Bellows, and Jean Mace; brothers-in-law, James Mace, Sr., and Edwin Cookinham; cousin, Judith Phillips; other cousins; nephews and grandnieces; and many former students. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Sofia Chase, and stepmother, Pauline Chase; and sister, Cynthia. She was a graduate of Watkins Glen High School and SUNY Oneonta. She was a teacher of elementary school children in Baldwinsville and Norwich. She attended Penfield Presbyterian Church having serving as a deacon, teacher, and day care board member, and Plymouth Congregational Church (Syracuse). She particularly enjoyed stays at Oneida Lake (summer home), the Finger Lakes, and the Adirondacks. Her critters were an important part of her life. Her love for others was an expression of her deep faith and it was inclusive with no boundaries.
A family memorial service was at her Penfield Church and at Mt. Adnah Cemetery (Fulton). Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
