Indovina, Louis Anthony Joseph Salvatore "Gene"

January 15, 2010, age 76.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jacqueline (Gessner); sons, Joseph (Karen), Mark (Yvette), and Ronald; grandchildren, Chantal, Alex, and Jennifer. He was predeceased by his infant son, Louis; his father and mother, Joseph and Virginia, and brothers, Sam and Joe. Gene joined the family business, Joseph F. Indovina and Sons Wholesale Banana Company, at an early age, and worked there until joining Wegmans in 1982. A graduate of Aquinas Institute, he served in the US Army during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. Gene was also a devoted fan of the NY Yankees.
No prior calling hours.
Gene's Funeral Mass will be celebrated WEDNESDAY, Jan. 20 at 9:30 AM in Light of Christ at St. Andrews Church (923 Portland Ave.)
Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff and care-givers of the Rochester General Hospital, in particular the Staff of the Unit 5500, for their care and comfort these past few weeks.
