Guarrera, John L. "Gunner" (Gunera) Irondequoit: Feb. 4, 2009 age 81. Predeceased by his brothers, Phil and Joe, and his sisters, Connie and Phyllis. Survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mrs. Madeline (Costanza) Guarrera; his children, Guy (Carolyn) Guarrera, Stephen (Shirley) Guarrera, of AZ, and John Jr. (Patricia) Guarrera; 9 grandchildren; his sisters, Santina (Frank) Mattioli and Marie "Curley" Casillio; nieces, nephews. John was a WW II Navy veteran and served aboard the U.S.S. aircraft carrier Midway. He was a firefighter, serving the City of Rochester for 30 years, last stationed at Goodman St. driving Truck No. 9 as a tillerman. Calling FRIDAY 2-4 & 7-9 at the Falvo Funeral Home Inc., 1395 N. Goodman St. On SATURDAY please meet the family at 10:30 AM in St. Cecilia's Church (Culver Rd. at Rt. 104) for the Celebration of his Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the School of the Holy Childhood or St. Cecilia's Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
