Dear Mrs. Ortiz, I am so sad to hear of the loss of "Ralphie". I go way way back to our childhood days on Stuart Ave. in Newark NY. The Rossi girls, the Van Dammes's, The DeCook's ect. We had such a fabulous neighborhood. I can still hear you call out to him to come home for dinner just like everybodies' mom did. I knew he loved that bass guitar even when he was just a little boy. I think I even remember when he got it. I am pleased that he made a career out of something he loved so much. I am so sorry for your loss. Please give my condolences to all those who loved him. With deepest sympathy, Karen Rossi

ralphie, my fellow gemini cousin..no wonder when we talked, it was so briefly...too many things to do, we're both geminis!! i remember when i was a little girl, sitting in your bedroom with you because your dad used to tease me so much, i had to get away!and i listened to you play the guitar..we sang "michael rowed his boat ashore" i was so happy when you came to geneva to play and so proud to say you were my cousin. you left us too quickly, and now i feel like i hardly knew you. heaven is now alive with music and im sure all our lost family are waiting to sing along. my thoughts go out to your mom, our family, LeAnne, and your brother ,Jim Richmond. may you rest in peace, my friend.

My prayers go out to Ralph's family. He was an awesome musician, a good man and a good friend. He always took the time to show me a thing or two on the bass and was never too busy to talk "shop". He was a true musician and I was just aspiring, but he never sherked his responsibility to pass along his knowledge. Although our time together was short I will always remember his contribution and feel fortunate to have known him and learned from him. His influence lives on in my style, his passion lives on in my notes, he is remembered.
