Obituary of Ken Kin-Pan Cheng

Cheng, Ken Kin-Pan (1944-2008) Penfield: Ken Kin-Pan Cheng, 64, passed away peacefully after a two and a half-year battle with cancer on December 7, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janice Cheng; two daughters, Emily (Ryan) Nelson of Troy, Michigan and Sarah (J.P.) Box of Washington, DC; and one grandson, Trevor Nelson. He was born in China in 1944. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from Georgetown College and a degree in mechanical engineering from the Ohio State University. He also received his Professional Engineering license in the state of Indiana, when he and Janice resided in Kokomo, Indiana. Ken and Janice relocated to Woodstock, New York before settling down and raising a beautiful family in Penfield, New York. Ken loved his family, was a connoisseur of classical music, and shared his wit and wisdom with everyone around him. He inspired family and friends with his unwavering faith in the Lord, his genuine love for life, and his gentle, caring spirit. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester, NY 14625 (381-3970). The calling hours will be held at the Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Nine Mile Point Rd. (Route 250, Webster), on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The family would like to thank Robert Asbury, M.D., and the staff at the Interlakes Oncology, as well as Michael Milano, M.D., and the Radiation Oncology staff of the Strong Memorial Hospital, for their skilled and compassionate care of Mr. Cheng during his bout with cancer.
