Mary and I more often spoke on the phone, than actually got to meet, over research areas we shared in common at Xerox. In our few exchanges, hers was always a friendly and welcome voice, one of a respected and valuable colleague, and I was always happy to offer assistance when she needed it. I am genuinely sorry both that I never had the opportunity to know her better, and most especially, that we have lost her. From my brief opportunities to work with her, I knew her to be a very kind, and very talented woman. I wish her eternal peace and comfort, and I wish her loved ones many happy memories of Mary to sustain them at this difficult time.
