Obituary of Alfia Carrado

Carrado, Alfia (Magnera) Rochester: February 18, 2012 at the age of 95, at the Fairport Baptist Homes. Alfia, caring and loving and resilient, was devoted to family and friends. She will also be remembered as well ahead of her time as a woman entrepreneur as owner and operator of a number of local restaurants including Lorenzo's in downtown Rochester and Alfia's Diner. Her generosity and hospitality extended also to her patrons whom she treated as family; all of whom will remember their dinners and, especially, her luscious pies. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her son Charles, her sister Jenny Weston, and brother James Magnera. Alfia is survived by her loving family; daughter, Marie Tedeschi, son-in-law William Tedeschi; grandchildren Vincent Tedeschi (Joan), Northbrook, IL, Carla Tedeschi, Lubbock, TX, Alicia Tedeschi, Rochester; great-grandsons Tyler and Mathew Tedeschi, Northbrook, IL; also sisters Carmela Marino (Joseph deceased) Mary Francati (Richard), Virginia Parisi (Philip), and brother Samuel Magnera (Doris deceased); several nieces and nephews; and also, her life-long and dear friend Angie Morabito. No prior calling. Internment will be private at White Haven Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 12 noon Sat. at the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven. The unconditional care and heartfelt attention by the 2F Household Staff (especially Nurse Jane Grasil) at Fairport Baptist Home and the Hospice Services of Lifetime Assistance will be remembered always.
