Survived by Margot, his wife of 56 years, his daughters, Ursula (Silone Phommanirat) and Irene, his grandsons, Benjamin, Thomas and Eric, and nieces and nephews in Germany.
Born in Dresden, Germany, in 1927, Guenter immigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in Rochester in 1958. He was an instrument maker for 10 years at Bausch & Lomb, 21 years at Kodak.
Guenter loved music, reading, travel, and politics. He never failed to care for his family, crack a joke, and dispense advice. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
