The Rev. Geoffrey Lloyd Brice, 84, of Rochester died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Episcopal Church Home.
Born Feb 13, 1930 in Queens, NY, he was the son of James and Frances Brink Brice. Geoffrey grew up in Rochester and was a graduate of Brighton High School, the Peddie School in New Jersey, the University of Virginia (BA in history), and the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Mass. In 1956, he became a curate at Trinity Memorial Episcopal in Binghamton, NY. In 1959, he served the Episcopal parishes of Grace Church, Scottsville and St. Andrew's, Caledonia. In 1963, he became associate rector of St. John's Episcopal in Royal Oak, Michigan. In 1970, he was rector of St. Paul's Episcopal in St. Louis, Missouri. He returned to Rochester in 1979 to become chaplain at the Genesee Hospital until he retired in 1994.
Predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary Anna Brice, his son Geoffrey Jr., and his long-time friend, Sandra Anderson, his survivors include his caregiver Tony Martin and many dear friends and devoted clergy colleagues.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 11 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 9 Brown's Ave, Scottsville, the Rev. Christopher Streeter, officiating.
Private interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
