Obituary of Mary Farina

Mary (Cattalani) Farina
Passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Rochester at the age of 91.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Farina; her parents, Columbo and Sarah Cattalani; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Katherine (Meechan) Cattalani and Roger and Eleanor Cattalani; and her loving companion, Patrick SanFillipo.

She is survived by her loving children, Doug (Linda) Farina, Karen (Dave) Granata, Stephen (Darlene) Farina, and Kathleen (Eric) Hobbs. Mary was a proud and devoted grandmother to Frank (Justine) Farina, Joshua (Nicole) Farina, Gabriella Farina, David (Courtney) Granata, and Candice (Nate) Carlton. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, Connor, Addison, and Brayden Farina; Adelaide and Owen Carlton; and Charley Granata, along with many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mary loved raising her family in Irondequoit and created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. She especially enjoyed dancing, listening to big band music, and trips to the casino. Mary also loved entertaining family and friends, always making everyone feel welcome with her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit.

Mary worked at the Wegmans Food Markets store in Irondequoit, where she truly enjoyed engaging with her customers and formed many lasting friendships over the years.

Mary will be remembered for her deep love of family, her kindness, and the happiness she brought to everyone around her. Her memory will be treasured always.

Family and friends may gather to celebrate Mary’s life on Thursday, May 28 from 4pm – 7pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. Webster, N.Y. 14580. On Friday, May 29 please join the family for her Funeral Mass at 10am at Christ the King Church 445 Kings Highway S Rochester, N.Y. 14617. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
