Obituary of Thomas J. Vazzana

Thomas James Vazzana, born August 11, 1929, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Thomas lived a long and meaningful life defined by dedication, integrity, and deep love for those closest to him. A respected financial planner, he worked with care and responsibility, helping others plan for their futures, work that was both his profession and his passion.

He was committed to his community, generously giving his time to organizations that reflected his values. Thomas was an active member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Action for a Better Community, and the Kiwanis Club, and a constant presence in his children’s lives, supporting and guiding their schools and activities.

A proud Korean War veteran, he remained devoted to his country and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Thomas graduated from Aquinas Institute and later attended Rochester Institute of Technology— experiences that shaped his strong work ethic and enduring sense of purpose.

Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 68 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sylvia Vazzana a partnership built on love, loyalty, and a lifetime of shared memories.
Together, they built a family grounded in care and devotion. Thomas found his greatest joy in time spent together, never missing a ball game or a theater performance, always showing up with quiet pride.

He was predeceased by his parents, Caroline and James Vazzana; his twin brother, Joseph A.  Vazzana; and his sister-in-law, Joan Vazzana.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Vazzana; his daughter, Linda Vazzana; his son, Tom  Vazzana; his grandson, Matthew Pringle (Jenny Favre) and great-grandson, Devereux Pringle;  his brother, James G. Vazzana; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Vazzana and Ann Vazzana; his  nephews, Joseph Vazzana (Nancy) and James Vazzana (Dina); and numerous great nieces and great-nephews.
