Obituary of Marie A. DiPaolo

With great sympathy, we announce the passing of Marie DiPaolo on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 96. Marie lived a long and wonderful life devoted to her family, friends, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.

Marie Keady was born on October 20, 1929, in Poughkeepsie, New York, to James and Dorothy Keady, both of whom predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her brother, James Keady. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Keady of Rochester, New York.

On July 1, 1950, Marie married the love of her life, Jack DiPaolo, in Rochester, New York. They shared a loving marriage for 68 years. Jack, a retired Rochester Police Officer, passed away on March 27, 2018, at the age of 94. Together, Marie and Jack built a beautiful family and raised five children: Joyce (Frank) Magnera, Yvonne (John) Schutt, Mary (James) Frederick, John (Maria) DiPaolo, and Jacqueline (David) Barney. They were also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought Marie immense pride and joy.

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother while raising her family in Rochester, New York, Marie worked at Kodak, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she retired after 20 years of service. Following retirement, Marie and Jack spent their winter months at their home in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she enjoyed golfing, gambling, visiting with friends, attending shows, and dining at local restaurants. Summers were spent at their home in Penfield, New York, surrounded by family and friends.

Marie was especially known for crocheting blankets, lovingly making one for each of her grandchildren when they were born. She also enjoyed reading Danielle Steel novels, playing bingo, and listening to music. Among her favorites were Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Glenn Miller.

Marie and Jack eventually returned full-time to their home in Penfield, New York, and later resided at The Legacy and Baywinde assisted living communities in Webster, New York. After Jack’s passing, Marie moved to Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Maplewood for the years of exceptional care, friendship, and love they provided. It truly became a home for Marie when she needed extra support.
