Obituary of Patricia Rose Giangreco
Patricia (Iuppa) Giangreco
Passed peacefully in her home on the afternoon of April 3, 2026, Good Friday at 3 pm at her side were loving family members and close friends.
She is predeceased by the love of her life, Lawrence Giangreco, her husband of 65 years, whom we’re sure has been impatiently waiting in heaven for her.
She is also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rose Iuppa; her sister Anna Marie (Joseph) Palazzo, and brother-in-law Thomas Pautz. She is survived by her sister Rosemary Pautz, her brother Joseph (Sheila) Iuppa, and adoring nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, who were just as much as children to her: Joe (Sue), Cherie (Richard), Larry (Christine), Gary (Meg), Terry (Tricia). Her legacy also includes her grandchildren: Jamie (Stephen), Holton (Nici), Schuyler, Gina, Haley (Tom), Nick (Baylee), Larry, Ella, Vincenzo, Domenic, and Luciano; and her great-granddaughters Evie and Quinn.
Pat was born in Rochester and was raised at the family home on Culver Road in Irondequoit. She attended St. Ambrose grammar school, then Nazareth High School. She went on to graduate with honors from the Eastman School of Dental Hygiene. She later served as President of the New York State Dental Hygiene Association.
Pat was an avid golfer (she was a Penfield CC Women’s 9-Hole champion in the 1990’s with her son Gary caddying for her), bowler, Mahjong-player, and bridge-player.
She volunteered for St. Ambrose Church serving as a Parish Councilwoman, as the Festival Treasurer, and as a member of the PTA. Pat volunteered for TWIGS (serving as president) and other charities.
But her favorite past-time was dancing with her husband, Larry …they finally get to dance together again.
She loved her family unconditionally, surrounding them with affection and care —and food—she was an excellent cook. Mostly, she was their biggest fan in whatever they pursued.
Pat treasured her friendships from the St. Ambrose and Penfield CC communities, as well as from the Deerfield Dr. neighborhood. She started a neighborhood sewing circle and began and coordinated the Christmas tradition of luminary candles for the surrounding streets. The friends of her children were her extended family—caring for and feeding them just as she did her own.
The family wishes to thank Cathryn and her Home Health Aids: Nadezda, Christine, Fatima, and Anzehla.
Special thanks go to Pat’s golfing, Mahjong, and TWIG friends, including the original “Pat Pack”: Sandy, Dottie, Ida, and Mary Ann; and later Pat M, Mary R, and her dear friend Diane Heald…thank you for bringing her smiles;
To her PCC Bridge friends, including Barb, Carol, Carolyn, Carole, Carol, Carrol, Cathy, Cathy, Caran, Eileen, Joan, Jan, Judy, Maggie, Mary Jo, Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, Sue, Susan, and Ursula —you all kept her young;
And to her niece Colleen, her housemate and friend Wanda, and her cousin Roxanne Sacheli (thank you for every single card you sent).
We would be remiss, of course, without also giving a special Thank You to our Angel, Sharlene, who spent so much time caring for and just “being with” Mom.
Calling hours will be on Friday May 15th from 4pm- 7pm at Falvo’s Funeral Home in Webster. On Saturday, please meet the family at St. Joseph’s Church in Penfield at 10:30 am for her Funeral Mass, followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph’s Church in Penfield.
