Obituary of Gerald David Arnold
Webster- Gerald David Arnold passed away on Wednesday, April 8th. 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald “Jerry” Arnold was born in Wellsville, New York, on April 14, 1941, to the late Newton and Anna Mae Arnold. He grew up in Wellsville and Batavia, graduated from Batavia Notre Dame High School and eventually settled in Spencerport where he raised his family. Jerry served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard and he was the beloved husband of Joyce D. Arnold.
Gerald Arnold, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, affectionately known as “Poppy”, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, commitment, and family. Gerald was the beloved husband of Joyce for almost 59 years, a testament to a life built on loyalty, faithfulness, and deep companionship. He was a proud and loving father to his two sons and a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson who brought him immense joy and pride. Nothing meant more to Gerald than time spent with his family. Whether it was sharing stories, attending events, or simply being present, he treasured every moment with those he loved.
For nearly 30 years, Gerald was a dedicated employee of Eastman Kodak, where he built a career marked by hard work, reliability, and integrity. He took pride in providing for his family and contributing to his community through his work.
Outside of his career, Gerald found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a passionate fan of the Buffalo Bills, an avid golfer, and enjoyed time camping and out on the water boating. Yet, even the things he loved most never compared to the happiness he found being surrounded by his family.
Gerald will be remembered as a man of strong values, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and in the many memories they will carry forward. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Arnold; his sons Christopher (Kimberly) and Jason (former wife Chrissy, partner Alicia); grandchildren Abigail (Josiah) Ball, Rylee, Madison (Nicholas) Dilg, Nathan, Jackson, Emma, Grady, and Nicole (Chris) Spoto; and great-grandson Henry Dilg.
