Obituary of Gabriel W. E. Del Vecchio

Gabriel William Efner Del Vecchio, beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on March 20th, 2026, at the age of 48.

He is predeceased by his grandparents, Gabriel and Louise Del Vecchio and Ernest Vistocco and Roberta Tarallo. Survived by his loving and supportive wife, Nicole; daughters, Avery and Cassandra; parents, Gabriel and Camille Del Vecchio; sister, Molly (Mark) Kucharski; nephews, Owen and Luca; niece, Bianca; mother-in-law, Karen Battaglia, father-in-law, Jeffrey (Colleen) Battaglia; Also, many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Gabe was a graduate of Wilson Magnet High School in 1996 and Rochester Institute of Technology in 2000.

He was employed by Canandaigua National Bank as a Bank Officer, Senior Business Intelligence Engineer. He started consulting with the bank in 2013 but eventually agreed to come on board as a full time employee in November of 2018. Gabe brought thoughtfulness to his work and a wit as sharp as his intelligence. A beloved and approachable coworker and friend, he was rarely unavailable—except after a Bills loss. With his generous spirit and goodwill, he mentored many, often without realizing it, and was an irreplaceable teammate.

Gabe was a man of many parts. His interests included photography and videography. He donated his time and enjoyed taking photos and creating videos for the Penfield Girls Volleyball teams. He and his lifelong friend, Cordell Cordaro, created and produced a wrestling documentary that was featured on WXXI. He enjoyed golf, scuba diving, poker with lifelong friends and neighbors, and was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills. Among these many interests he also loved traveling, video games, music, and film. He would also frequently enjoy a crisp can of caffeine-free Diet Coke.

Gabe’s pride and joy were his daughters. He never missed an opportunity to attend one of their sporting events or performances and he cherished having family movie nights. Gabe would never miss an occasion to be with his family, especially for Sunday night dinners. He will be greatly missed.
