Obituary of Giuseppa F. Vicari
Giuseppa Filippa Vicari (1939-2026)
Giuseppa, Giuseppina, Josey, Zia Pina, Mom, or Nonna returned to God on March 8th, 2026.
She was born in Bagheria, Sicily in 1939 to Nicola and Antonia Scaduto, and was one of seven children. She cherished her family and often recounted stories of their childhood together.
She came to America in the 1970s to pursue the American dream and build a life. She worked at the Genesee hospital for almost 30 years as a housekeeper. She loved her job and was loved by all her coworkers. She would always talk about how well the doctors and nurses treated her.
Giuseppa loved children. She would always enjoy playing and joking with her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She loved to tell jokes and make kids laugh. She would tell stories about walking her younger siblings to school like she was their mother, even though she was only a few years older than them.
She loved to cook. She was always in the kitchen. When anyone would come to visit, she would always have something ready and set a place at the table, whether it was mealtime or not. She had a knack for just throwing ingredients together and making something delicious.
Giuseppa was preceded in death by her former husband Antonio Rotoli, and later by her second husband Rosolino Vicari, her parents, sisters Vitina and Louisa, brother Salvatore, nieces/nephews Saro, Anthony, and Ninetta. They will meet again in Heaven. She is survived by her son Franco Rotoli (Amy), grandchildren Matteo and Marco Rotoli, stepchildren Cinzia (Rick), Leo (Patricia), Tony (Angela), and their families, sisters Maria and Enza, brother Matteo, and many nieces and nephews both in America and Italy.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5-7pm at Falvo Funeral Home (1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster.)
