Samuel C. McQuade

Webster, NY, passed away at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, age 69.

He was predeceased by his father, John D. McQuade, mother Lois McQuade, nephew Andrew, and mother-in-law Patricia.

He leaves his wife Jean, brother Monte, sisters Connie and Cheryl, nieces & nephews, and extended family Benito and Marie.

Sam loved studying the Bible. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening, landscaping, boating, and fishing. His other hobbies included model railroading, fine wood working, and reading. Sam, an animal lover, was a great companion to his dogs.

Sam began his career by serving in the military, then as a Deputy Sheriff and Detective in Pima County, Arizona.  He continued policing with the Redmond Police Department in Redmond, WA.  During this time, Sam completed his bachelor’s degree (Western Washington University) and a master’s degree (University of Washington).

Sam accepted a Presidential Internship with U.S. Department of Justice before accepting a permanent position with the same agency in Washington, D.C. Then Sam was recruited by the National Research Council, a branch of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, during which time he was awarded a Ph.D. by George Mason University.

Sam began a second career in higher education by accepting a professorship at Rochester Institute of Technology. A tenured professor, Sam’s focus was crime and technology research, the basis of his published books. He always wanted his students to learn to think critically.

Sams was a “renaissance man”.
