
Obituary of Phyllis J. Davenport
Phyllis Jean Davenport; November 27, 1933 – March 3, 2026. Phyllis was born in Rochester, NY and resided in Webster and Penfield. Survived by son, Sean P. O’Brien. She was predeceased in death by husband, Donald J. O’Brien, parents, Freda and Rollo Davenport and brothers, James R. Davenport and Robert W. Davenport. She graduated from Webster High School and the Highland Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Phyllis held an active New York State nursing license for 62 consecutive years.
Phyllis was much loved and respected by family and friends alike. She frequently lunched with her high school friends and was known for her homestyle cooking and passing down recipes to her niece and granddaughters. She enjoyed reading and attending the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Phyllis also cherished the time spent with her three grandchildren in Australia and in the United States.
Phyllis lived in the same house since 1963 where gardening and watching her Japanese Maple trees change with the seasons brought her great joy. She enlarged the house and continued over the years to make it her home and a home for the entire family for many holidays and visits.
Survived by her grandchildren Alexandra, Rebecca and Lochlan O’Brien. Survived by brother William Davenport and nieces Dawn Davenport and Susan Sudmann. Surviving nephews Duane Davenport, John Davenport, Robert Davenport and Thomas Davenport.
The family are very grateful to the Palliative Care staff of Strong Memorial Hospital for the love and care they provided to Phyllis.
