Obituary of Peter James Bruno Sr.
Passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at age 93. Predeceased by his wife, Jean Bruno; Siblings, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by his loving children, Peter (Deborah) Bruno; Lisa Bruno, Steven Bruno, Scott Bruno and Patrick Bruno; Grandchildren, Michael Bruno; Jennifer (Jack) Lenahan; Amanda Bruno, Brandon Bruno and Christian Bruno; Sister in-laws, Edith and Mary Jane Bruno; Survived by nephew Albert Mitchell, whom he had a special bond and his cousin Florence La Point. Also, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Peter was born in Hudson Falls, New York, and moved to Rochester as a young boy. He lived on Hampden Rd for 73 years. It was there that he married his soul mate, Jean, and together they raised their children. Their home became more than just a house — it was a warm and welcoming environment, not only for their immediate family but also for extended family members, including Albert, Darlene, and Mary.
Peter proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his service, he worked at Gleason Works for 32 years until his retirement, showing dedication and a strong work ethic.
He was an avid bowler, an enthusiastic follower of astrology, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He lived the last chapter of his life at The Friendly Home – The family would like to thank the staff on Potter Place and RRH Hospice for the compassionate care they showed Peter throughout his stay.
Above all, Peter was a gentle soul. Family meant everything to him, and he was always there for anyone in need. He was a loving father and grandfather to many. His kindness, warmth, and devotion to those he loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 8, his 94th birthday from 1pm – 3pm with a service at 3pm BOTH at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. Webster, N.Y. 14580. Interment held privately by the family.
