Obituary of Ana Maria Rivera
Rivera, Ana Maria
"Maruca"
Rochester, NY: January 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71, lost her battle with Alzheimer's. Ana is predeceased by her father Cristino Vazquez and mother Rosa Lopez. Ana is survived by her husband Juan Rivera (Negro), he was her lifelong partner for 45 years. Ana and Juan spent every moment of their time loving each other and building a family together. Sons, Carlos Noel (Yisenia) and Juan Rivera Jr.(Buli) (Jamie). Grandchildren, Jenessa (La nena de mama), Carlos Juan Rivera (Carlito), Janalyse (La Traviesa), Yaniel (Yani). Ana's sisters and brothers and nieces and nephews, sister in laws and bother in laws, Ana's family was her entire world.
Ana's Puerto Rican heritage was a source of immense pride. She loved traveling to visit her family and staying connected to all. Ana had a huge family, amazing connections and love with all; most can only dream of this. Truly blessed more than words can ever express.
Ana was a woman of Deep Catholic Faith; she lived her life guided by God's love and made sure she shared that daily with her family. Ana faithfully served as part of the church choir for many years, lifting her voice in praise and prayer. Her faith sustained her and inspired those around her through her kindness and devotion.
Ana was known for her strong work ethic, selflessness, and dedication to others. Ana approached every moment with care and purpose and those that knew her would greatly understand and appreciate her time and love given.
Ana embraced life to the fullest, finding happiness with family gatherings and cooking for all to eat (truly loved the time family was together) Ana loved and lived for family and having everyone together, she had joy, and was able to share her love for music, dancing, happiness, and the simple pleasures that she would want us all to remember; spreading that on to all of her family would be her wish;
Life gets busy but family is always priority.
Ana will always be remembered for first and foremost her unconditional love for her husband, sons and grandchildren (she lived her life for them), generous heart, joyful spirit, ability to touch everyone's heart that she crossed paths with, unwavering love.
Ana's legacy lives on through her family, the faith she practiced and the many lives she touched.
"The life we lived so fondly together is untouched, whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Speak of me often as I live through you all. I am here with you all and we will meet again.”
