Irene E. Marcello
August 26, 1968 – January 15, 2026

Irene E. Marcello, age 57, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Irene E. Marcello was a woman whose heart knew no limits. She was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, without hesitation and without expecting anything in return. Her generosity, strength, and unwavering love defined who she was and touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved parents, Robert J. and Ann E. Bilodeau, and by her brother, Scott Bilodeau, a loss that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Born in Rochester, New York, Irene was raised in the 10th Ward, where she grew up alongside her four siblings and formed lifelong friendships and deep community roots. She carried those connections with her always and was known for her loyalty, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Above all else, Irene was a devoted mother and an extraordinary grandmother. She was a loving and supportive mother to her daughters, Angela (Juston) and Olivia (Kevin), standing by them through every stage of life with unwavering love, guidance, and strength. Irene was a constant presence, their  protector, their  supporter, and their  greatest example of what it means to love fiercely.

Irene’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, Dominic, Arianna, and Francesca—who were truly the center of her world. She adored them deeply and took immense pride in being their grandmother. They were the light of her life, and her love for them was boundless.

She is also survived by her children’s father, John Marcello, her ex-husband and forever friend, with whom she shared a bond rooted in respect, shared history, and enduring care.

Irene is survived by her brother, Michael (Lynn), and sisters, Bonnie and Betty, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She was a loving aunt to her nieces, Nicole and Samantha (Logan), and her nephew, Alexander. She is further survived by her aunts, Joan (Bill) Lindley and Patricia Connor, as well as many cherished cousins and extended family members.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 30, from 4-7 PM at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 North Goodman Street. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 31, at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt St, Rochester, NY 14610. Interment will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery, 1260 Lake Avenue.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Irene’s legacy is one of kindness, selflessness, and deep family devotion. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit, laughter, and compassion will live on in every life she touched—forever walking beside us.
