Obituary of Mary Ann Swift

Mary Ann Swift, just days shy of her 94th birthday, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.

A devoted public health registered nurse, Graduate of Nazareth College, Mary Ann dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. Her compassion and sense of duty extended far beyond her career, shaping every aspect of her life. This included lovingly caring for her own mother for many years in the family home, a testament to her deep faith, selflessness, and devotion to family.

Mary Ann was the beloved mother of five children: David Swift; Susan Swift (Beth Buddendeck) Mary Frances Stever; Margaret Swift (Laura Bennett); and Julie Parravano.

She was a proud grandmother to Phillip Stever (Beckah), Ryan Swift, and Elizabeth Hamel (Josh).

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David J. Swift; her son-in-law, Phillip C. Stever; and her granddaughter, Andrea Parravano.

Guided by a strong and abiding faith, Mary Ann lived a life of service, humility, and grace. A true matriarch, she touched many lives through her kindness, strength, and quiet wisdom, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Within a small stature lived a giant among us.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 14, from 4pm - 7pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, N.Y. On Thursday, please meet the family for her Funeral Mass at 11am at Holy Spirit Church 1355 Hatch Road Webster, N.Y. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of The Jewish Home, Cottage 1, for their exceptional care and for preserving our mother’s dignity during her final days. We also wish to thank the Rochester Regional Hospice staff for their kindness, support, and comfort to both our mother and our family.
