Obituary of Dolores P. Hellems

Passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at age 90. Predeceased by her husband, John D. Hellems; Parents, Frank and Viola Piehler; Siblings, Marian (Carl) Frank, Frank Piehler, Walt (Jean) Piehler, Helen (James) Metcalfe and Joanne (Joe) Vath. Survived by her loving children, David Hellems, Anne (Charles) Russell and Marc (Tracey) Hellems; Grandchildren, Jesse Hellems, Dylan Hellems, Shane Hellems, Len Russell, Breanna Hellems, Ryder Russell and Sarah Hellems; Great-granddaughter, Arabella; Sister in-law, Louise Piehler. Also, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY Dolores attended Nazareth College for her teaching degree and SUNY Brockport for her Masters degree. She taught in Troy and Rochester NY before starting a family with her husband of over 50 years. Dolores enjoyed spending time reading mysteries, gardening, participating at her church and doting on her grandchildren. Family was everything to her. To know her was to be blessed by her generous and unconditional love.

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 9, 2026, from 4pm – 7pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, N.Y. 14580. On Saturday, please join the family for her Funeral Mass at 11am at Church of the Transfiguration 50 W Bloomfield Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
