So thankful to have such an amazing person in my life. The lessons, the laughs, and of course the love. Calling you Uncle would be an understatement. The love you showed me knew no boundary and for that I’m forever grateful! Love you Uncle Chris!!!!

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. I really enjoyed my time spent working with Chris and the obituary said it perfectly, that he did not give up. He was willing to work with physical therapy up until the very end. I enjoyed our conversations and time spent together and will carry on those memories of him. Melissa Riley

I’ll always cherish my friendship with Chris and will never forget all the good times we had together. His strength showed long before the cancer ever did. We were childhood friends and he was always a warrior -driven, loyal, and optimistic! As life went on, those qualities only deepened, shaping him into an amazing father and husband. I admired him in so many ways. Even in the hardest moments of his fight, he carried himself with courage and grace . His loss leaves an ache and a void in my heart but his impact, his love, his fight, his positive mindset—will always stay with me. Go see if my father will make you a PB&J! Love you , Nick

Chris, every cast of my line will have a different sound, early morning alarms won’t have quite the same ring and those sunrises and sunsets we were blessed to share so many times will be a little less bright. Our campfires will always flicker and shine with your memory, laughter and the gift of your life you shared with everyone willing to share it with you. You’re endless fight to be happy, encourage others and be there for your friends and family was simply amazing. And I speak for an endless number of friends and family when I say I’m eternally grateful for each and every moment.
You made me a better person. You were and will always be family. We laughed, cried and celebrated life’s challenges together with friends and family. I can’t imagine a more selfless, loving and caring man. I’m blessed to have had you as a best friend for over 40 years. My family is blessed to have known you. Rest easy my friend. Give your folks and mine a big hug. I’ll see you on the water.
Steve

Chris was an all around fantastic person! I'm glad I was fortunate enough to spend many good times with him, but most of all I'm lucky and happy that my kids had him as an Uncle! Thanks Chris for being there for them. RIP my friend.

Ever since I moved away from Rochester, one of my favorite parts of visiting home for the holidays has been catching a Bills game with the Straits. I’m confident that this is a tradition we will carry on in Mr. Strait’s honor. Thank you, Chris, for raising your son to be truly the best friend I could ever ask for. You will be missed ❤️

Uncle chris, I’ll miss you always. Your head rubs, hugs, sense of adventure, goofiness, generosity, dance moves, heart of gold, the list goes on and on. Thank you for everything and for instilling strength and kindness into Kath and Jman. You & AK are the most selfless people I know and the best example of true love and partnership. I love you, rest peacefully.

Chris… the lake just won’t feel right without you. We went through storms, glass-calm mornings, big fish, skunks, and all those long stretches where the fish didn’t matter nearly as much as the laughs. You were always there—a true friend—generous with your time, your help, and your heart, always willing to drop anything to lend a hand. I’ll think of you on every troll across Lake Ontario. Thank you for the years, the memories, and the kind of friendship a man never forgets. Rest easy, brother.
