Obituary of Kathleen Finn Oette
Webster: Kathleen Finn Oette, 74, of Webster, New York, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Rochester, New York surrounded by her daughters. Kathy (“Mom, Momma, Grandma, Aunt”) was born on March 29, 1951, in Rochester. Kathy graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester and earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from SUNY Brockport.
Kathy worked for the Rochester City School District, through which she met her husband Ed. She later worked in Materials Management for Monroe Community Hospital. Kathy loved traveling, going to the Y, playing pickleball, cheering for the Yankees, spending time with friends and family, and especially loved doting on her grandkids. She was warm, outgoing, adventurous, and fearless. She didn’t allow her pancreatic cancer diagnosis to keep her from doing what she loved. Everyone who met her loved her and was drawn to her positive spirit. Her faith in Christ was central to her life and she loved listening to worship songs. She was a devoted wife and deeply loved her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Edward Finn and Rosemarie Finn Twietmeyer (née Arseneau), her beloved husband of almost 44 years, Edward Oette, and brother-in-law William (Linda) of Rochester. She is survived by her daughters Sharon (Brent) Raitz of Brunswick, Ohio and Renée (Andrew) Schoch of Westborough, Massachusetts; grandchildren (Hannah, Hailey, Mikayla, Everett, Grant); sister Barbara (Paul) Truscello of Braintree, Massachusetts; niece Erica (Michael) Hackett of Rochester.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 4-6pm with a Memorial Service at 6pm (Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, NY 14580) with Rev. Peter Englert officiating. Private interment at Webster Union Cemetery.
