Obituary of Ronald A. Angerhofer

Ronald Allen Angerhofer of Penfield, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 6, 2025

He is survived by Lenie Dame of Penfield, his life partner and bedrock of over 30 years; Tim Angerhofer of Haverhill, MA, his eldest of three sons; Erik Angerhofer of Morgantown, WV, his youngest son; his grandchildren Gabe Angerhofer (Tim) and Xavier Angerhofer (Erik); Bob Angerhofer of Hendricks, MN, his younger brother, and his wife, Barbara Angerhofer, and their family comprising Ron’s nephews and a niece and their families. Ron is predeceased by son Todd Angerhofer of Portland, ME.

Ron was born in Aberdeen, SD, and raised by his parents on a farm in Mansfield, SD, informing his strong midwestern work ethic – living alone in an apartment in Aberdeen so that he could attend the larger high school there and subsequently in studying engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, graduating in 1963. Eastman Kodak took notice, successfully recruiting Ron to join them as a mechanical engineer. A loyal and proud Kodak employee, Ron never left the company or Rochester, retiring in 1998 after serving Kodak across many domains, including in university relations where Ron was the company’s top recruiter, launching professional careers and influencing lives. Ron was especially committed to college students transitioning to young professionals, including networking with minority engineering associations on campus. Ron enjoyed spending time with family (“Opa” to his grandchildren) and friends, on local lakes with his boat whenever possible, and tinkering numerous innovations to solve ordinary challenges. Above all, it was his experience with Lenie that fulfilled him with love, numerous travelling adventures abroad and domestically, and several cat adoptions.

Ron’s Celebration of Life will take place privately with family and friends this Spring or Summer. Donations in Ron’s name to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450, are encouraged.
