Obituary of Akintunde Babatunji Campbell

Akintunde Babatunji Campbell popularly known as "Tunde" &“Bow-Wow”. Born February 13, 1987 in Rochester NY. He was the Son of The Late Great Festus Ayotunde Amtac Babatunji Campbell, and the Great Survivor Evangelist Viviene Campbell.

Tunde spent some of his childhood in Jamaica, with his grandmother Kathleen Henry. Tunde was a long time resident of Rochester,NY specifically the Chili Ave area and following Ernestine was and will always be his home. He started his education journey at 29 School, where he loved to paint and do musical arts. He also attended 44 Lincoln Park School, and Monroe High School. He was an entrepreneur, creating BlackBook alongside the help of his surviving sister: Nefertiti Campbell, Niece: Starasia McCoy (Additionally publishing her self-written song), and Nephew: Zyon McCoy.

Akintunde was an avid and creative artist, creating music and films . Akintunde had a love for music, particularly rap and R&B. This helped him create and developed his image and style. Wu-Tang Clan was his favorite Group following his beloved Brother Almustafa Campbell, they would have musical discussions, intellectual plans, and artistic critique. Through his arts, spending time with the family, and his children he was able to express his intellectual/musical ability and spread love .

Akintunde departed from us unexpectedly, while suffering from a mental health crisis, on July 31, 2025 at the age of 38, to be with the Lord Jesus Christ and his Ancestors. He will be reunited with his Father Festus Campbell, His Beloved Brother Almustafa Campbell, His Beloved Sisters: Afrieca Campbell ,Simone Campbell, His Beloved Grandfather Donald Lamont, His Beloved Uncle Bancraft Lamont, and His Beloved Aunt Millicent Campbell. 

Survived by his Devoted Mother Evangelist Viviene Campbell ,Grandmother Kathleen Henry, Children: Adonis Campbell (Mother: Whitney Spencer) and Simone Miller (Mother:Marquita Miller), and Beauty(Nadine). Sisters: Nefertiti Campbell-McCoy (Micheal McCoy), Ramona Campbell, and Karima Hendricks. Brothers: Alexander Campbell (Candida Campbell). Nieces: StarAsia McCoy, and Reina Campbell Nephews: Imhotep Joyner and Zyon McCoy, Grandnephew: Camrean Shirer, Grandniece: Kapri Moore, Aunt: Pauline Taylor, Christine Huckaby, and Sweetie Campbell, Uncle: Mark Collington, Donovan Carlton Campbell and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces , nephews and friends.

Akintunde left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered through his, artistry, love, and humor. Lets celebrate his life like he would want. Akintunde will be remembered for his contagious smile, laughter, and uniqueness.

A funeral service will be held at Living Word Temple of Restoration, 219 Stenson St., Rochester, NY 14606, on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11am.
