Never got to tell you but grandpa passed away a month after you, you guys got along so well. I wish I could hear you walk by with you mumbling of what your doing or going to do. I’m in your house worst Christmas ever where are you no tree no giving you a big hug when i walk in the door geez. I’m so glad you got to see me grow to a teen I realize you chuck grandpa pop. Won’t see me graduate I don’t believe in god but you were such a miracle to me I love you so much. You are truly unforgivable, you were so tough I thought you would’ve looked death in the eyes and said few more months. I truly look up to you, you were the heart of the family oh geez where are you now. I don’t know how to say bye and let you go and realize you lived a great life. So what I will say is I love you miss you and talk to you soon.

DeeDee was part of a close circle of wonderful people who shared friendships with my parents—a generation that grew up in the 1950s and maintained strong ties to their neighborhood roots. She was beautiful both inside and out, always making an effort to stay connected with old friends while easily forming new ones with her humor and warmth. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire family and take comfort in knowing that the happy memories of DeeDee will live on through all who knew and loved her—family, friends, and colleagues alike. God Bless.

What a Beautiful picture! DeeDee and I worked together 30 years ago for Sam Minnie. She would have me crying laughing at her take on pretty much everything. Those were the days! She was one of kind and I enjoyed her to pieces!
I went to see her when she was sick, and it was like a moment never passed. Those are friends that stay in your heart forever.
My deepest sympathy to her family. Keep her love and laughter in your hearts. She was the BEST!

I met Dee in 1974 at the Blue Gardenia and the rest is history! We have been friends since then and we even lived together for awhile. I worked and Dee hung out at the house and cleaned. How she loved her Electrolux’s! Words can’t express what a loss it is to all of us that were blessed enough to have known her. My deepest condolences to your family!. Rest easy my dear friend!

Today, I want to honor someone who truly touched my life in ways words can hardly fully capture. Their laughter was a bright spark that never failed to light up every room, often accompanied by their hilarious comments that could turn any moment into a joyful memory. They had a unique gift for finding humor even in the simplest of things, and their wit brought smiles and comfort to everyone around them.
Music was a special language between us—every time Gladys Knight’s soulful melodies played, it felt as if they were right there with me, sharing in the rhythm and lyrics that spoke to the heart. Those songs became our soundtrack of connection, reminding me of their kindness, strength, and the beautiful soul they were.
What I will cherish most are the countless messages they wrote to me, filled with encouragement, love, and sometimes playful teasing that made my day brighter. Their words, like their humor, left an indelible mark on my heart.
Though they are no longer here, their spirit lives on through the laughter they sparked, the music they loved, and the genuine kindness they shared so freely. I am grateful for having known such a wonderful person, and I carry their memory with warmth, gratitude, and a smile, forever inspired by the light they brought into my life.
Rest peacefully, Big Nanie —you will always be missed. -Craig Minter
