Obituary of Johanna Mary Lochner

Johanna “Joey” Lochner, of Dundee, New York, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her husband, after a life devoted to kindness, laughter, and love.

Joey had a remarkable ability to connect with others - she made friends wherever she went. Her warmth, humor, and genuine care for people drew others in, and she gave of herself freely, whether she had known someone for years or just minutes.

She spent much of her professional life as a para educator in the Webster Central School District and as a hairdresser, roles that reflected her natural gift for helping others feel seen, supported, and valued. In retirement, she found joy working in tasting rooms at Finger Lakes wineries and spending cherished time by the lake with those she loved.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Tom; her son, Matt (Rachel); her daughter, Maria (Kevin); and her greatest pride and joy, her four grandchildren, who brought her endless delight.

Friends and family are welcome to stop in and share memories as we celebrate Joey’s life on Sunday, August 24, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m., at Tabora Farm & Winery, 4978 Lakemont Himrod Road, Dundee, NY 14837. This will be an open house style gathering, and all are invited to come and go as they wish.
